The late-night TV hosts plan to continue Monday production in their shows, despite the winds and rains of "Frankenstorm," the monster mix of Hurricane Sandy, arctic air and early winter storm due to create record wind, rain and snow over the Eastern U.S.
As a result, production on a number of entertainment projects in New York City has been shut down, according to the Hollywood Reporter .
"We will be doing the show tomorrow night no matter what," Fallon Tweeted Sunday, as news outlets went into in disaster mode, reporting 24/7 on the storm, which already had shut down thousands of flights across the Eastern Seaboard, as well as all subway and train service along with forced evacuations of those in the city who live near water.
Kimmel, who planned a weeklong set of shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, said he would rely on generators if power should wane. Those set to brave the elements on his show Monday night were Kelly Ripa, Chris Rock and Alicia Keys.
Other entertainment productions, however, were grounded as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg halted all outdoor shooting permits for series including Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, and Blue Bloods, among others.
A Monday screening of Flight, starring Denzel Washington was canceled, while the planned Tuesday premiere for the Keira Knightley movie Anna Karenina was also rescheduled.
Timothy Hutton, Hope David and David Duchovny, shooting After the Fall in Greenwich, Conn., were also forced to shut down production – while comic Louis C.K. has postponed two New York shows and, on Broadway, Monday performances of Chicago, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Evita were canceled, says the Reporter.
