The Good Morning America weather anchor is engaged to Rubem Robierb, ABC News announced Friday.
Robierb, a Miami-based, Brazilian fine-arts photographer, met Champion through mutual friends a few years ago.
Says Champion, 51, in a statement, "We are thrilled and so excited, and thank everyone for their good wishes."
He also Tweeted, "I've never been happier to share a bit of personal news!!"
The pair are set to wed later this year, although the couple seem to still be sorting out an exact date.
"We're getting married New Year's Eve in Miami,” Champion told The New York Times at the wedding of colleague Thomas Roberts over the weekend.
"We'll do it here officially, and then have a party in Miami," notes Robierb.
