"Do what you have to do," mentor Michael Bublé said to the hopefuls. "You're fighting for your life."
In Blake Shelton's quest to find the ultimate down-home country crooner for his team, he pitted Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson against each other. After a lively version of his wife Miranda Lambert's "Baggage Claim," Davis came out on top, thanks to her musical experience and breath control. Shelton made sure to give worthy competitor Johnson a hug on her way out. (Watch their battle below.)
Mentor Mary J. Blige feared that Alessandra Guercio of Team Adam was "imprisoned by being perfect," and needed to watch her back against sweet and clear-toned Kayla Nevarez. While Cee Lo praised Guercio's bold attitude in a battle featuring Katy Perry's "Wide Awake," Adam Levine stuck with Nevarez.
That spunk served Guercio in the end, though, as Christina Aguilera stole the LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts student for her team of pop singers.
Team Cee Lo's Emily Earle and MacKenzie Bourg were called out for their nerves after performing Owl City's "Good Time," but still proved to be fun and rousing entertainers. Cee Lo was torn by his "mixed emotions" when making a decision. In the end, he gave awkwardly endearing Bourg another shot at stardom.
Michelle Brooks-Thompson was victorious over Adanna Duru, who fought it out to stay on Team Adam with Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love." And Laura Vivas will remain on Team Christina after going to battle with Beat Frequency, singing Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."
