Confession: We’ve spent all morning talking about the dress Anne Hathaway selected for the Les Misérables world premiere in London on Wednesday.

The star chose a very busy pearl-beaded white Givenchy number with some serious sleeves for her big night that has just left all of us wondering, “What is going on here?”

Granted, there are a few things that we love about her look: The color is gorgeous and the semi-open back is romantic.

Though with the good comes the bad: The all-over pearl beading is just overwhelming, the sleeves remind us of bat wings (maybe she was paying homage to her Dark Knight role?) and the open-shoulder halter neckline just does not work with everything else going on.

We do have to give Hathaway props for wearing something risky and unexpected (we certainly don’t think we’ll see this in a Fashion Faceoff anytime soon), but we wish she had chosen something a bit less over-the-top. Tell us: Do you like Hathaway’s dress? Vote below?
