Kristin Cavallari: I Was 'Acting' on The Hills

Real or fake?

Two and a half years after its finale, it's a question that still dogs MTV's The Hills. And now, just weeks after Lauren Conrad claimed much of the show was essentially true, Kristin Cavallari has said almost the opposite.

The show was "pretty fake," Cavallari, 25, said Monday on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live .

"Did they tell you what to say and stuff?" host Andy Cohen replied. "Pretty much," said Cavallari. "Fake relationships, fake fights ... but it was fun, 'cause you're acting. And that was more fun for me."

One thing that wasn't faked for the cameras? Cavallari's dislike of Conrad, now 26. But Cavallari, who had some kind words for Conrad on Monday, claims the producers stirred the pot on that relationship.

"I feel like they put things in our heads," she says. "We were 17 and 18, and they made it a lot worse than it was."

Cavallari – who now has a baby boy with her fiancé, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler – has said similar things in the past about The Hills. Shortly after the show's finale in the summer of 2010, she told PEOPLE that "nothing you see on TV is real" and that she would "never put my close friends or a real relationship on a show."

On Monday, she reiterated that she never dated Justin Bobby, despite what the show depicted. "I think I made out with him once and that took a lot of convincing," she says.
