However, as you may not be aware, "We've got a lot of Sox fans here," according to President Barack Obama. By "here," he means The White House – he called Red Sox manager John Farrell on Monday to congratulate him on his team's victory.
During the video, we learn that at least one aspect of the Series caught the President off-guard: "I did not anticipate Ortiz batting .700," he tells Farell, calling him the "gift that kept on giving" during the Series.
And Obama leaves Farrell a few words of hard-won advice that seem considerably weightier coming from the leader of the free world: "Enjoy yourself and get a little bit of rest. I know you're probably already having to think about next season, but let it soak in a little bit."
