Jack Hyer knew he wanted to marry his girlfriend after their first date.
Talk about a grand wedding present!
All that stood in the way was 26 countries, four years and one Proclaimers song.
Hyer started filming his travels four years ago as a way to keep in touch with his girlfriend, eventually turning them into a video proposal where he lip-syncs The Proclaimers' 1988 hit "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" through China, Africa and many other countries.
Hyer did eventually pop the question in person – the scene is at the end of the video. (Spoiler alert: His girlfriend, Becca, said yes.)
And the happy couple already have a honeymoon destination: Belize. The best part? They're traveling there for free because the Belize Tourism Board liked the video.
