When Kim Kardashian ‘s pregnancy with new boyfriend Kanye West was revealed, it seemed as though Kris Humphries was going to allow his divorce proceedings to accelerate, with one source telling HollywoodLife.com that the basketball player was pushing his lawyers to wrap things up by the end of February. So, why has he just filed legal documents questioning the “urgency” for a “quick” divorce?
Kris Humphries SLAMS Kim Kardashian’s ‘Unplanned Pregnancy’
Kris’ lawyer, Marshall Waller, filed documents on behalf of his client, TMZ reports, in which Kim’s pregnancy is slammed for being unplanned! “What is really going on here is that an ‘urgency’ in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kim] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial,” the document reads.
After the word “pregnancy” in the document, there is a footnote that reads, “Indeed, why would [Kim] plan to get pregnant in the midst of divorce proceedings?” It appears as though Kris and his legal team are attempting to insinuate that Kim’s pregnancy is being used to force Kris to settle, even though these divorce proceedings have been in progress for much longer than the marriage that preceded them!
Kris Humphries Can’t Be Bothered Until Basketball Season Is Over
In the documents, Kris says he wants to be present for Kim’s deposition and has a right to be there, but is unavailable until mid-May or June, due to his work schedule!
Kris & Kim’s Divorce Date: WHEN Will It End?
One wonders what prompted Kris to change his mind so dramatically. As previously reported as recently as Jan. 24, he was urging his lawyers to wrap things up! “Kim and Kris haven’t spoken verbally in a year and Kris can’t stand for her name to be mentioned,” an insider told us. “He is pushing his lawyers to wrap up the divorce, it’ll be finalized by the end of February or before.”
