Emily Maynard calls Mother's Day a "really special day," but that doesn't mean she's the one getting totally spoiled.
The single mom, 27, who was previously engaged Jef Holm, hopes her daughter doesn't win her usual battle over where to dine on Maynard's special day.
"It's hopefully a day that we'll get to go to my favorite restaurant instead of Ricki's, like usual," the former Bachelorette told PEOPLE on Thursday with a laugh. "I'm just hoping for Mother's Day, we get to go somewhere that has real silverware, real napkins, and I'll be happy."
Of her young daughter's favorite eatery, Maynard explains, "There is a place in Charlotte, [N.C.,] called Nothing But Noodles. It's Ricki's favorite restaurant. She would eat there for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I let her. It's really just a bowl of noodles with butter and cheese; and whenever I make it at home, it's never as good and she doesn't eat any of it."
Restaurant choices aside, the former reality starlet describes a typical mom's day as one that "usually involves church, then lunch with our family. My mother-in-law is really sweet. She always takes Ricki out and helps her pick out a present for me. Ricki usually makes me something."
And now that her TV days are behind her – at least for now – things for Maynard have reverted to the way they were before fame.
"Life for me after The Bachelorette went back to normal, painfully quickly almost," she says. "Whenever you have a seven-year-old, she doesn't care. If you're on TV or not on TV, life goes back to normal. I'm just doing carpool, cleaning out litter boxes, doing laundry – you know, everyday, normal stuff."
