While Kim Kardashian is busy getting her post-Nori body back, “Fashion Facing Off” with Jennifer Hudson and loving life as a new mom, her ex-husband Kris Humphries is collecting some cash from that famous 20.5-carat engagement ring he gave her back in 2011.
According to Forbes, the Lorraine Schwartz bauble — which features a 16.5-carat emerald cut center stone flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids — sold for $749,000 at a Christie’s New York Magnificent Jewels auction on Tuesday. And while it’s less than half than the $2 million he reportedly paid, it’s still a nice chunk of change for the basketball star, who is gearing up for his first season as a Boston Celtic.
Last week, Humphries’s rep confirmed to E! News that he was definitely the person selling the ring: “The ring is indeed Kris’s property that he received through his marriage dissolution. He has long since moved on and is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie’s on Tuesday, and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic.”

Back in 2011, Kardashian gushed to PEOPLE about about her sparkler.
“In high school I went to Macy’s and bought this fake ring, my ‘perfect’ ring, and this is almost the exact same,” Kardashian said. “[Lorraine] always listened to what I would want and the shapes I love. I had said I loved an emerald cut and they were scheming and plotting for a while.”
