Hoping to spice things up for spring? Why not take a cue from Maggie Gyllenhaal, who just debuted the brand new, bright-blonde version of the pixie she’s been sporting for a year now. The actress stepped out at the Cannes photocall for The Honourable Woman in a very “French girl chic” look of a ruffled ivory dress, flat sandals and her new do tousled to perfection.
The actress is the latest to join the blonde crop brigade — Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Hough and Pamela Anderson were charter members — after opting for a short pixie to salvage a bowl cut she had for a film role. “I originally cut it … in, like, a bowl cut for a movie,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “But when I got home I was trying to figure out what to do with it, so I asked Serge [Normant] to cut it, and he cut it all off!”

She loved the cut much that she stuck to it — but now she’s mixing up her looks with this pure platinum shade, without even a hint of roots. And judging from her WhoSay account, she’s digging this do too. “I’m blonde btw,” she captioned the below sweet smiling photo on her social media account.
