Asked about his longtime Ocean's costar George Clooney's engagement to Amal Alamuddin, the veteran actor says he's thrilled for his friend and is rooting for him to take another big plunge.
"I want him to have some children already!" Gould, 75, told PEOPLE at Wednesday night's L.A. premiere of the Showtime series, Ray Donovan.
Gould, who played a fatherly role to thieves Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt in Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels, believes Clooney is destined for fatherhood.
"He's got a good role model as a father – Nick is great," says Gould, himself a father of three. "And George has a big heart. He'll be a wonderful father. I want George to take the next step, but let's worry about him getting married first!"
Gould calls Alamuddin "a beautiful woman and very smart." And he has no problem with putting on the public pressure for little Clooneys: "It would be very meaningful for those of us who love George to help pull the wagon."
