"She keeps us all sane," the actor, 34, told reporters Tuesday night at a screening of Sony Pictures Classics' Foxcatcher in New York City. "Jenna puts everything in perspective for me, always."
Continues the actor about his wife, who is the mother of their 16-month-old daughter, Everly, "I'll find myself spinning out or angry or whatever, or even happy, and she always somehow ends up righting the ship."
Tatum told reporters that Jenna holds down the fort during the busier times in his life – like now.
"I just want to have that, more of that, more time with the family," the actor, who just finished filming Magic Mike XXL , added. (Maybe that's why he skipped the afterparty, sponsored by Details and Patron tequila.)
Along with Jenna, Tatum credits a costar with getting him through the filming of Foxcatcher, a dark drama based on the true story of two wrestler brothers and their eccentric coach, played by Steve Carell.
"Mark Ruffalo will forever and ever be my big brother, whether he wants me or not. I would never have been able to survive this movie without him and, truthfully, he's a star," Tatum said of the actor who plays his brother in the film.
