Lawrence visited The Late Show Wednesday night and confessed to David Letterman that while she sings in the newest Hunger Games installment, Mockingjay, Part 1, she's not comfortable with singing in public. In fact, she's mortified by the idea.
"I do not like singing in front of other people. It's like my biggest fear," Lawrence said. "I cried on set that day and apparently I'm crying all the time. That was awful. I'm like, scarred from my childhood because I have a Southern mother who would just tell me that I was amazing at everything, that I could do everything. But, I can't."
But Lawrence's public-performance roots go deep, despite her fear. She talked about singing a Christmas song in front of her school when she was just 8 years old, before joining Letterman for a gloriously off-key version of "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas."
Check out the full clip from the interview below, and be sure to catch Lawrence's vocal chops on display in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, in theaters Nov. 21.
