Hey, everyone! I've missed chatting with you every week. It's been a blast shooting season 15 of The Biggest Loser , and I'm so glad we can all get together here to discuss it after each episode airs.
What did you think of Tuesday's season premiere? It was a big change-up, having the trainers part of the casting process, right?! I can tell you, I'm glad that wasn't my decision to make. It must have been so hard to choose the best 15 out of all the heartbreaking stories they heard of people searching for a life transformation. And I know they had so much to consider in their decisions. I totally appreciated that it seemed to come down to heart, the gut instinct of each trainer, finding people they connected with and people they felt really wanted the chance and were willing to work for it.
Once on the Ranch, some of the contestants immediately resonated with me. David's story of losing his first wife to brain cancer and promising to not leave "her girls" really hurt my heart.
I was also impressed with American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, someone who has such recognition and talent but who has the guts to walk onto the Ranch for the same reason as the other 14 contestants – to lose weight and fight for his health. And he is wiling to do it in such an open, vulnerable way.
And what about Holley? A current Olympic weightlifter coming onto the Ranch because she wants to medal and not just participate in the Olympics is so awesome. She was an immediate favorite on the Ranch with the other contestants as well as with the crew.

When we started the weigh-in, I could tell immediately that the contestants were already stronger than when they first walked through the doors. It's amazing how quickly those changes happen with trainers Bob, Jillian and Dolvett in the Biggest Loser gym.
David losing a staggering 38 lbs., Jay and Matt losing 23 lbs. each, Ruben and Rachel each losing 21 lbs., Bobby losing 20 lbs. and Tanya losing 16 lbs. – those are some great first-week numbers! At the end of the day, Dolvett and the red team killed it, losing over 100 lbs. together. But with Jillian using her trainer save option, it was so great to not have to send someone home after only one week together.
Favorite moment of the week: Ruben in the ice bath and then proclaiming to Jillian that he's "bringing the real man back." HA!
