We were in disbelief at how many times he got to shoot; every time they would send him back out we would all stare at each other and nervously laugh. Olympic hockey is being played under slightly different rules than NHL hockey so a shootout is the best of three shooters, but if you're still tied after that, you can use the same shooter as many times as you want.
Enter T.J. It was an electric win.
Last night we had another incredible USA win. Ryan started in goal against Slovenia, and we won 5-1. It's been his dream to be back in net at the Olympics since winning silver in 2010, and it was just a great feeling to see him come out, compete so strong and win.

After the game, Procter & Gamble put on a dinner party for Team USA men's hockey and their families. Winning the first three games got us a "bye" until the next game so now we have two days off.
I got tickets to go to the finals of ice dancing Monday night. I love seeing all their costumes. I also had a chance to visit the athlete's village Monday. I ate French fries at the Mecca of all McDonalds, the international Olympics-sponsored McDonalds, where you can see athletes from all the different countries pounding burgers and fries and then going off to compete in events.
It's a funny site. You would assume the athletes would be eating very healthy but ironically McDonalds seemed to be the most popular choice in the cafeteria. And if it's good enough for the best athletes in the world then it's good enough for me (That's what I told Ryan anyways after I ordered fries and he gave me a look of disbelief). I swear they were tastier!
I brought my dirty laundry with me into the village. I've been trying to figure out how to do it at the hotel but I can't seem to communicate with the staff at all. I didn't know how to explain to them not to dry my lulu lemon leggings on hot, it was all too confusing, so Ryan told me to bring it to his athlete house and I could do it here.
On the long trek over from the bus to village entrance my plastic bag of dirty clothes ripped open. I looked back to see a trail of my socks behind me. Just another day in Sochi!
