Back in July it was first announced that Rihanna was teaming up with British high-street label River Island on a Spring 2013 collection. In fact, the stylish star also directed the campaign for the brand, sharing a sneak peek of the collection on her Twitter page. Additionally, the 24-year-old star shared her excitement over debuting the collection on the runway during London Fashion Week — and now she’s sharing the inspiration behind her debut line in a brand new video interview with Vogue! “It’s casual, it’s chic, it’s flirty,” the star says. “Style is definitely inspired by my mood.”
The line is scheduled to hit stores on Mar. 5. “I have wanted to design my own fashion label for a very long time,” Rihanna explains. “This has been something I wanted to do ever since I started loving fashion. Every time I saw something on a rack there was something I wanted to do to change it and so I thought that the only way I could do that is by designing the perfect thing for me.”
RiRi always makes a statement whenever she steps out so we’re sure her collection will really steal the spotlight! It was only a matter of time before she got her own line, and we think her collaboration with the brand is a perfect fit. “Teaming up with River Island, designing clothes for young women who has young and sassy personalities, that’s what I wanted to do,” she says.
