It might only be Wednesday, but Ivanka’s Instagram post featured a very #TBT-worthy fashion statement: a glittering, fringe-y Bob Mackie number borrowed from her mom Ivana’s closet. Here’s Ivanka wearing the dress this week, and a snap of her mom wearing it in 1991:
We guess even fashionista heiresses who have their own clothing and accessory lines sometimes sneak into their mother’s wardrobes and play dress-up. While Ivana’s hair is definitely screaming early ’90s both beauties look equally fabulous in the sparkly frock.
Of her throwback style moment, Ivanka wrote, “Last night in my mother’s vintage Bob Mackie dress. It’s a good thing she’s not on Instagram! A daughter’s never too old to clandestinely raid her mother’s closet! Shhhhh…” Hopefully Ivana isn’t reading this post either or our girl is busted! Of course, Ivnaka couldn’t keep it secret for too long: She wore it to the nuptials of designer Joseph Altuzarra to his financier fiancé Seth Weissman, and we’re guessing she may have gotten snapped by the wedding photographer a time or two. Who could resist that dress?
