Don't think Kristen Stewart is a good actress? That doesn't bother her one bit.

"Honestly, I don't care. It's fine. I'm really happy doing what I'm doing," the actress, 24, tells the Daily Beast when asked about those who would denigrate her ability – many of whom after seeing her only in the Twilight films.

"I'm sure there are a ton of people out there who would hate [all] my movies," she adds, "just as I'm sure there are people out there who are obsessed with Twilight and say, 'I watched the series, and she completely let me down, and then I watched every one of her other movies, and I f–––ing hate her!' And that's cool! Just don't watch my movies."

Two years removed from the cheating scandal that doomed her love affair with Robert Pattinson, Stewart is laser-focused on work, and earning raves for her performances in three indie films – Clouds of Sils Maria, with Juliette Binoche; Still Alice, with Julianne Moore; and Camp X-Ray, in which she plays a green guard at Guantánamo Bay.

The latter, in particular, is a hot-button issue. But don't expect Stewart to begin making political statements – about Guantánamo or anything else.

"I don't want to talk about that s––– at all," she says. "Trust me, I'm only asking for it. When it comes time to stand up and effect change, I'm not the type of person to shout from the rooftops. Just because you're an actor and in the public eye, people think that's how you must be. But there are other ways to do that. That's not me."
