The disappearance of Misty Upham may have come to a tragic close.

Police in Auburn, Washington, believe a body found near the White River to be the actress's, KIRO-TV reports.

Authorities have yet to officially identify the body, but a reporter from the local station Tweeted details of the discovery.

"Friend of missing actress Missy Upham tells me a search party of three found her purse and then a body," Graham Johnson wrote.

Police spokesman Steve Stocker told The Seattle Lines that there is a "good chance" the body is Upham's.

Upham, 32, was reported missing Oct. 6. An acclaimed Native American star, she has appeared in films like August: Osage County, Frozen River and Django Unchained.

Her father, Charles, has spoken out about her battle with mental illness, saying a change in medication had left her struggling with depression and panic attacks.

Police have responded to suicide calls at her apartment four times over the past year, Stocker told PEOPLE on Saturday.

Still, in an Oct. 12 Facebook post, Upham's father said he doesn't think his daughter committed suicide.

"I feel that she has been hurt by accident or someone has put her in harm's way," he wrote.
