On Saturday, Sarah Silverman hosted Saturday Night Live.

The comedian had a strong act to follow after Chris Pratt kicked off the show's 40th season last week.

See how Silverman did with her first SNL hosting duties below.

Monologue

Silverman, 43, proved that SNL monologues are best done by experienced comedians. The funny girl showed no signs of nervousness as she poked fun at her brand of "blue comedy." To show just how comfortable she was joking with the crowd, Silverman delivered half her opener from the lap of a random (and somewhat scared) audience member.

Fault in Our Stars Trailer

A play on this summer's hit teen movie The Fault in Our Stars, this phony trailer trades out a love story about cancer for one about Ebola. Partnered with Taran Killam, Silverman plays Olive, a girl stricken with the highly contagious disease, who has a little trouble developing a "close" relationship with Theodore in The Fault in Our Stars 2: The Ebola in Our Everything.

Joan Rivers in Heaven

Shortly after Joan Rivers's passing, Silverman and her ex Jimmy Kimmel delivered a fitting and insult-filled tribute to the comedic legend. Silverman continued playfully paying homage to the iconic comedian with this sketch about how Rivers is now ruling over heaven's stage, eagerly skewering other deceased celebrities like Richard Pryor, Steve Jobs and ... Benjamin Franklin.

Forgotten TV Gems

This time on "Forgotten TV Gems," viewers learn all about the unpopular soap opera Supportive Women. Instead of filling its story lines with catty, back-stabbing ladies, this fictional show focused on juicy plots about empathetic and relatable women. The results: A show where "audiences tuned in in whatever the opposite of droves is."

Maroon 5, "Animals"

Adam Levine took a break from The Voice to join Maroon 5 as the show's musical guest. Unlike in their music video, the group performed their new single "Animals" on the SNL stage fully clothed.
