A Brooklyn Technical High School teacher charged last month for sending an explicit photograph to a 16-year-old student using the social media app Snapchat has now been arrested for other crimes against students, according to officials from the Kings County District Attorney's office.

When Sean Shaynak, a math and science teacher, made a court appearance on his original charge Tuesday, he was arrested again for allegedly victimizing six more teenaged girls.

"It is shocking that a public high school teacher allegedly sexually preyed on vulnerable students," says District Attorney Kenneth Thompson in a statement.

Following Shaynak's original arrest on Aug. 26, investigators seized three computers and two phones, which stored thousands of texts messages, and hundreds of photographs and videos.

Among 36 counts included in his indictment, Shaynak was charged with second-degree kidnapping, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal sexual acts, disseminating indecent material, official misconduct and sexual abuse.

In the course of the investigation, Thompson says it was revealed that Shaynak took a 15-year-old student to a nude beach in New Jersey without her parents' consent; he performed a sex act on an 18-year-old student without her consent; he sent photos of his genitalia to four students, including two minors; he inappropriately touched and kissed students; gave alcohol and cigarettes to minors; and requested two minor girls have sex with each other.

Shaynak's bond was set at $750,000 or $500,000 cash.
