It was a milestone week for one of America's great political families, as they welcomed the next generation. But not every birth announcement was met with quite as much love.
Throw in a celebrity arrest, a one-of-a-kind mug shot and a truly scary incident in California, and you have the five stories that got the strongest reactions on PEOPLE.com this week.

The most-loved story of the week was the news that Chelsea Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky welcomed a daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, in New York City. And you have to check out the photos of the former first daughter and her parents cradling the adorable newborn.
And speaking of images you have to see, check out this frightening incident in which a California woman huddled outside a second-story window of her home to hide from a home intruder. Yikes!
The other baby news of the week wasn't so well received, as word came from Peru that a woman gave birth to Joran van der Sloot's child. Van der Sloot is the Dutch man who's serving 28 years for killing a Peruvian business student in 2010, and is still the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba.
Amanda Bynes seemed to be getting her life back together after a series of legal troubles and strange behavior. But she took a big step back last weekend by being arrested in California. Find out what she's been charged with.
And finally, a man's serious run-in with the law provided fodder for laughter from readers, when a bank robber in Denver was captured by authorities – and left everyone with this memorable mug shot.
