Princess Kate added some sparkle to a rainy night as she stepped out in a black crocheted Temperley dress on Thursday.

Attending a gala dinner and reception for Action on Addiction, pregnant Kate looked happy and radiant while waving and smiling at the crowds.

The dinner and reception, held at L'Anima restaurant in London's trendy Shoreditch, marked the third event that Kate, 32, has attended in as many days, a clear sign that symptoms of her severe pregnancy sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum, are starting to ease.

Fashion-wise, she scored a sartorial hat-trick. On Tuesday, she debuted her barely there baby bump, wearing a fitted Alexander McQueen coat to welcome the president of Singapore to London, alongside husband Prince William, 32. Later that evening, she dazzled onlookers in a sweeping, floor-length Jenny Packham gown at the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards, held at the Natural History Museum.

Thursday evening's knee-length Temperley dress gave onlookers a demure glimpse of the Duchess of Cambridge's toned legs.

Last year, Kate – a patron of Action on Addiction since January 2012 – launched M-PACT Plus, an initiative that provides early support for schoolchildren affected by parents' drug or alcohol abuse. The two-year program brings together both Action on Addiction and another one of Kate's patronages, Place2Be.

Nick Barton, chief executive of the charity, was keen to point out how much Kate's presence meant. "It's been difficult for her, one appreciates that, so one appreciates her presence tonight even more," he told reporters, adding: "She loves talking to the people we actually help and she's so good with them and genuinely interested."
