Clearly, Sarah Jessica Parker is not her Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, but they do overlap in a few key areas. For starters, they look a lot alike. They both married handsome brunets. And they’ve both got a serious thing for shoes. That’s why Parker couldn’t resist naming one of the styles in her shoe line “The Carrie” — and also why she brought her shoes on a pilgrimage to the West Village townhouse that stood in for Carrie’s Upper East Side apartment on the show.
The brownstone, on N.Y.C.’s Perry Street, is blocked off to tourist traffic, but we’re guessing Parker gets special privileges considering she spent six years wistfully gazing after suitors from those very steps. In her first Instagram post on her personal account, she’s shown arranging all the colors of the “Carrie” style on the stairs while clad in jeans, booties and a wide-brimmed hat. “It was take your @sjpcollection shoes to work day. #longdayforCarrie #whewwwwthosesteps #runninginheels #taxi!” she captioned the photos.

She then shared a few more pics of the process on the SJP Collection Instagram, first writing “That’s a wrap ladies,” then following up with “Oh no. Eek. Sorry. No. I was just talking about the shoes. Oh man. Geesh. Sorry. X Sj” (which we’re guessing is a cheeky nod to those pervasive Sex and the City 3 rumors that follow her everywhere).
We love that Parker seems to love her shoe-obsessed alter ego just as much today as she did when the series wrapped 10 years ago — and we find ourselves suddenly in the mood to do a little footwear shopping ourselves.
