What do Katy Perry, Vanessa Hudgens and Jena Malone all have in common? They’ve all dyed their hair red in the past month. Malone is the latest to opt for a fiery new shade, saying goodbye to her blonde strands.
Malone debuted her bright color at the premiere of Inherent Vice over the weekend, and unlike Perry and Hudgens, she went allover red, skipping the whole “darker roots, brighter tips” trend. She also shared a photo of her transformation on Instagram (everyone’s doing it, apparently), with the caption, “Drastic times call for drastic measures.”
For her role as Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games franchise, Malone sports a dark black shade (though we’re pretty sure she has some help from wigs and extensions). We’re curious to see if she keeps her red hair for the upcoming red carpet tour for the latest Hunger Games installment, Mockingjay Part 1, hitting theaters this November.
