Kate Middleton took a night off being a new mom and stepped out for the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom at the 2013 Royal Film Performance at the Odeon Leicester Square in London on Dec. 5 with husband, Prince William — and while we’ve seen the Roland Mouret gown on her before, it was her sparkling necklace that caught our eye. When we first saw her we were convinced she was dripping in royal diamonds — but the style-savvy duchess was actually wearing an affordable find from one of her favorite stores, Zara! How cool is that?
Kate Middleton’s Necklace At ‘Mandela’ Premiere:
Nearly five months after giving birth to Prince George, Kate looked stunning in a cream colored gown that featured a thigh-high slit to show off her toned legs — but this isn’t the first time she’s been spotted in this gown! She first wore it in May 2012 to a private dinner, but she proved to us that you can recycle an ensemble and make it look completely different from the last — and it was all thanks to her necklace.
The 31-year-old Duchess first wore the gown without any statement accessories and instead carried a metallic clutch and matching heels. For the glam premiere Kate accessorized her outfit with a sparkling statement necklace that really spiced up the whole ensemble. She also wore her hair up in a messy yet classy ponytail so it wouldn’t overshadow her crystal necklace!
Kate proves to us that although she’s royalty, she still has a passion for bargains! Instead of wearing a royally expensive piece of jewelry, Kate sported a fake crystal necklace from the clothing chain Zara.
