TODAY show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb admit that they were not thrilled when they heard the news of the movie star's
"I'm supposedly happily married," jokes Gifford. "But Hoda has given him a glance or two."
Gifford, 60, did applaud Clooney's lady love Amal Alamuddin for not agreeing to go out with him the first time he asked.
"I would have gone out with him on the first breath," says Kotb. "But she was smart, she played it just right."
The pair – who were at the T.J. Martell Foundation's Women of Influence Awards in NYC on Thursday where breast cancer survivor Kotb was being honored – insist that hope is not lost for single women everywhere.
"Well, 50 percent of marriages end in divorce," says Kotb with a laugh. "So just wait it out."
"And Prince Harry became available," says Gifford. "So it was a win/lose week."
