Did anyone have Hillary Clinton on their betting sheet for “first major haircut of 2014?” We didn’t think so. While our money was on Pamela, Brad or Beyoncé, the former Secretary of State surprised us by being the first famous figure to debut a stylish, sassy cut, and we’re loving the new look.

Though Clinton is a political figure, known much more for what’s inside her head than on top of it, her hair has still been the subject of discussion for many years (one of the “perks” of being First Lady — just ask Michelle Obama). But she keeps a good sense of humor about the Hillary hair fascination, never hesitating to try something new.
And in the latest case, we think the risk paid off big time. Her shorter, softer style (debuted at the swearing-in of N.Y.C. mayor Bill de Blasio) frames her face well, while the bangs are chic and flattering, but more importantly, low-maintenance — perfect for a powerhouse who doesn’t have time to hit the salon before every public appearance.
