We don’t know what it is about ’90s supermodels, but they just don’t age. Especially Cindy Crawford. The star looks better than ever in a sexy new photo shoot forThe Violet Files , and she opens up about her stance on aging, dieting and her pending 50th birthday.

“The secret is that there is no secret,” she says when it comes to aging. “Do all the stuff we know: Don’t smoke, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, find what makes you happy.”

She also maintains the importance of sticking to a skincare routine. “Results are cumulative. When a 35-year-old starts taking care of her skin, she won’t look different. It’s when you’re my age that you start seeing the payoff.”

As for celebrating her upcoming 50th birthday, Crawford is releasing a new book looking back at her life.

“I thought that writing a book, compiling photos and writing essays about my experiences might be an interesting way to turn 50. It’s probably what we should all do on our birthdays, to take a look back to examine our lives. When you’re in the middle of something you can’t see as clearly, so it’s been a great journey for me to look back and reflect.”

The 49-year-old star also reflected on having some nostalgia for the ’90s when it comes to dieting.

“Remember back in the ‘90s when people thought that a big bowl of pasta was a low-calorie option? Those were the days,” she mused. “Today, eating that is like eating a sundae.”
