They're ready for a curtain call!

Dancing With the Stars champions Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis are set to reunite on the dance floor – and they couldn't be happier.

"Meryl and I are going to reproduce a couple of our routines and give people a little Maks and Meryl magic – even if it's just for a day," Chmerkovskiy tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The former DWTS pro and the Olympic figure skating gold medalist will dance together on Dec. 17 at his dance extravaganza SWAY – A Dance Trilogy in Westbury, New York.

The show, which run Dec. 17 through Dec. 20, will also feature DWTS pro dancers Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Peta Murgatroyd, Jenna Johnson, Artem Chigvintsev, Henry Byalikov, Serge Onik and Sharna Burgess, as well as Disney Channel star Zendaya, who performed in the first show in July.

Davis will be performing only in the matinee and evening performances on Dec. 17. Zendaya will only be in the Dec. 20 show.

"I think audiences are going to be very happy to see Meryl back on the stage," says Chmerkovskiy. "She has never done anything like this and is very excited about the opportunity. We are happy to have her with us this time, and to have Zendaya back again."

Though many fans have said they wish the pair would become an item, he says, "We aren't dating, and I don't think we will. She is very special. I care very deeply for Meryl. Our friendship is where it will be for many years. She is awesome to spend time with."

Balancing Each Other Out

Davis has a way about her that calms him down when his blood pressure is rising, he adds.

"She is so soothing of a personality," he says. "For me to go 0 to 100, I take very long, but once you get me going it's impossible to stop. So, with Meryl, she totally balances me out. She's like this little thing, and I'm like 10 miles of inferno, but she can put her hand on me and say, 'Calm down. Everything is fine.' And then everything calms down."

Janel Parrish has the same effect on his brother Val on this season's DWTS, Maks adds. "He is similar to me," he says. "She calms him down. She makes sure she doesn't react to things or get thrown by them."

As for whether or not those two are dating, he says, "That's going to be their call – their thing to talk about."

While Maks wouldn't says whether DWTS has asked him to return as a guest host or guest judge, he says he has fond memories of the show. "They are like family," he says. "I spent a big part of my twenties and early thirties on the show. If something comes up that's mutually beneficial, we'll make something happen."

Chmerkovskiy, who is pursuing acting roles, adds: "The last few months after DWTS have been so fun. I was sad about leaving because this was a huge chapter in my life, but I am excited about the future. It was brilliant that Meryl was my last partner. It made it so easy for me to walk away."
