Barbara Bush Hospitalized for Respiratory Illness

Former first lady Barbara Bush has been hospitalized in Houston with a respiratory-related issue, her husband's office said Tuesday night.

The statement from the office of former President George H.W. Bush said Mrs. Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Monday.

"She is in great spirits, has already received visits from her husband and family, and is receiving fantastic care," the brief statement said.

Just last week, Mrs. Bush, 88, and her husband, the 41st president, honored a Houston businessman and philanthropist with a Points of Light Award, a volunteer service award started by the former president.

The Bushes' home is in Houston.

Mrs. Bush had a reputation for bluntness when her husband was president. Her son, George W. Bush, was the 43rd president.

The Bush family matriarch had heart surgery in March 2009 for a severe narrowing of the main heart valve. She also was hospitalized in November 2008, when she underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer.

In 2010, she was admitted to the hospital after having a mild relapse of Graves disease, a thyroid condition for which she was treated in 1989.

Marriage plans dropped faster on New Year's Eve than the ball in Times Square, it seems.

Tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki was the latest celebrity to get engaged or married Tuesday – joining Kaley Cuoco, Rachel Nichols and Christy Romano – by accepting golf star Rory McIlroy's proposal.

"Happy New Year everyone! Rory and I started 2014 with a bang!" Wozniacki Tweeted alongside a photo that showed off her new ring, her new fiancé and fireworks. "I said YES!!!!"

The union of Wozniacki, 23, and McIlroy, 24, makes them yet the latest sports power couple, alongside Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn.

The Danish beauty is currently ranked 10th in the tennis world, while the Irishman is ranked sixth in golfing.

The engagement may surprise some, according to Bleacher Report , as the couple were rumored to be on the outs this fall after Wozniacki ignited a firestorm and upset McIlroy by posting a Twitpic of him sleeping.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made more than a few headlines this year – Baby! Engagement! "Bound 2" video!) – and Kardashian has shared a new video recapping all of those highlights.

"Kimye Love"" (watch it below!) offers fans a mash up of interview clips, pictures and even some paparazzi footage of her relationship with the rapper, with the score of Rihanna's evocative ballad "Stay," and Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down."

The 33-year-old posts the video under the name "Kim West" and adds the caption, "Happy endings do come true!"

"I've never loved any girl, other than my mother, as much as I love my girlfriend," West, 36, says of his fiancée in one of the interview clips.

"I definitely think anything I'd be in now is a permanent relationship," Kardashian tells Barbara Walters on The View.

Along with images of the couple on red carpets and tarmacs, a photo from the "Bound 2" video is featured, as are snapshots of the couple's daughter, North West.

In a clip from Keeping Up with the Kardashians , the reality star recalls some of West's words to her about baby North.

"He says, 'There's nothing more that I love in this world than you and me. So imagine a combination of the two.'"

Willie Robertson: 'We're Ready to Move On'

Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson chose not to quack back.

In one of his first chances to comment on the dust-up surrounding his outspoken father and costar Phil Robertson, the younger Robertson had only kind words for the A&E network and New Year's wishes for the nation in an appearance Tuesday night on Fox News's "All-American New Year" special.

"We're just glad to be back to work, and A&E and us are fine," Willie Robertson said in a live appearance with wife Korie from Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Fox Hosts Bill Hemmer and Elizabeth Hasselbeck gave him several chances to address the firestorm surrounding the suspension of his father over anti-gay comments, but without quite ducking the question, Willie Robertson chose not to take the bait either.

"We're looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It's a New Year so we're ready to break in a New Year and start it all over again," Robertson said. "We're ready to move on, you know. I think we all learned a lot and we're just ready to move on, and the family's happy, and we're ready to go. I've got to make sure my guys are back there building duck calls."

Asked her thoughts on the suspension by Hasselbeck, Korie Robertson took the same conciliatory tone.

"Hey, I'm just glad the family's all together, the best thing about the show is we get to do it as a family," she said. "We're all happy, happy, happy."

The cable channel reinstated Phil Robertson on Friday, nine days after suspending him over the anti-gay comments made to GQ magazine.

The suspension brought out legions of defenders who felt he was being censored by the network.

Aaron Rodgers Facing Anti-Gay Slurs On The Football Field

Aaron Rodgers Speaks Out On Gay Rumors

Aaron cleared up the rumors about him being gay in a recent radio interview with ESPN’s Jason Wilde.

“Yeah. I’m just gonna say, I’m not gay,” the quarterback responded when asked about the rumors.“I really really like women. That’s all I can say about that.”

Katy Perry Welcomes 2014 with John Mayer in Vegas

Katy Perry sang in the New Year!

The pop star capped off 2013 with a private show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas Tuesday night. Invited guests of the hotel attended the show, as did Perry's boyfriend John Mayer, who watched inconspicuously from the sound booth.

The show was essentially a compilation of Perry's greatest hits.

Perry made no mention of Mayer during her 80-minute set, but she did celebrate the arrival of 2014 with him at a private party at Caesars Palace's Fizz.

The concert capped off Perry's nearly weeklong stay in Sin City, where she checked out Britney Spears's new show on Friday, and apparently got emotional while attending a Fleetwood Mac concert on Monday after singer Stevie Nicks dedicated "Landslide" to Perry.

The moment of speechlessness apparently gave Mayer a chance to highjack Perry's phone and send out Tweet from her account.

He wrote, "John here. Katy can't write because she's getting over Stevie Nicks dedicating a song to us at the Fleetwood Mac concert. Unforgettable."

Kaley Cuoco Is Married!

The new year is starting out with a big bang for Kaley Cuoco.

The actress, 27, posted an Instagram photo Wednesday of herself in a big (pink!) gown, kissing her beau of six months, tennis pro Ryan Sweeting.

The caption: "Yep :) #thesweetings."

It was a whirlwind romance for the star and her beau, 26, who were engaged just three months after they were first spotted together.

But friends say this couple is meant to be. "Ryan is such a good guy," says a Cuoco pal. "They make each other so happy."

Said the actress in September: "I know that it seems a little crazy on paper but it works for us … From day one, I just knew immediately and it's been magic."
