Kate plays field hockey at St. Andrew's

Dressed in a dark green tartan frock coat by Alexander McQueen, Kate, who attended the school from 1986 to 1995, was serenaded with the song "In Bonny Scotland" by a group of students age 6 and under.
Asking the young students if they had any animals in the classroom, Kate, who recalled the class guinea pigs of her schooldays, explained, "There was one called Pip and one called Squeak – because my sister was called Pippa and I was Squeak."
She also received some art from the students, specifically a painting of the class mascot teddy bear colored with fingerprints of every member of class.
"Thank you, it's lovely," Kate told young Oliver Bury, who presented her with the painting.
After a lunch of Scottish beef and a dessert called "bird seed" (a mixture of pancake and rice crispy treats), it was time for some exercise – specifically out to the hockey field, where Kate, dressed in three-inch suede boots, took some practice shots with the kids before giving a formal speech.
"It was while I was here at school that I realized my love of sport," she told the gathered students. "Sport has been a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had to get outside and play in such wonderful open spaces – though, sadly, there was nothing quite as glamorous as this in my time!"
