The former couple may have met briefly at her Los Angeles home on Wednesday, PEOPLE has learned.
According to a source, "Bieber's van and two of his bodyguards were spotted at Gomez's house for about an hour that afternoon."
But despite widespread reports of a reunion, a rep for Bieber declined to comment and it couldn't be 100 percent confirmed. The van's windows were heavily tinted and no one actually saw the singer exit.
Plus, the pair seem to be moving in different directions.
Bieber, 19 is getting ready to head out on tour again, while Gomez, 20, has seemed quite happy to be single.
She even joked with David Letterman earlier this month that she had made Bieber cry, and added: "I'm single. I'm so good."
A source told PEOPLE at the time that Gomez was truly moving on, and that she wanted Bieber to move on, too.
"She's becoming more and more comfortable with her decision [to split]," the source said. "But she doesn't like hearing the negative stuff. It saddens her. She wants the best for him. But every day she is more and more comfortable with her decision."
Meanwhile, Bieber has had a more turbulent time since parting ways with the Spring Breakers actress.
In January, he admitted he was and "not in the happiest place" following the split. Then, in early March, he suffered through a disastrous visit to London, which included a ruined birthday, harsh criticism from fans and an on-stage collapse.
He later angrily denied rumors that he was going to rehab and that his family was worried about him.
