"Having the body you want begins with loving the body you have." – Mandy Ingber
Name it to claim it!
Whenever you begin a new project, it is important to declare what it is. This workout requires you to make some decisions. Jennifer Aniston, for example, works out with me three days a week, and Kate Beckinsale maintains a dedicated yoga area.
Coming up with a simple statement like "I choose health" is a good beginning.
So let's start with three tips to kickoff your own Y28 Revolution (starting May 6, here on PEOPLE.com):
1. Make a date in your calendar and set aside time daily for the next 28 days.
You must treat this appointment like it's a business meeting or picking your child up from school. Make this time a priority.
2. Create a dedicated space.
Making room for yourself means that you are committed. When I visit the Chelsea Lately Show, there is a workout room that is dedicated for just that. Especially when you have a lot going on, you must find a way to unplug and focus on yourself. If you have a small space, that's fine, but unplug your phone and shut the door. You deserve space.
3. Choose one of the diet options in my book.
You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian. You don't have to give up your favorite foods permanently. One thing that those who are in shape have in common is that we are restricting. When eating, we are choosing what we put in our bodies. This arrests unconscious eating. I have found that most meal plans will work, simply because it causes us to become more aware as we eat.
Each of the meal plans in this book includes lots of fresh leafy greens and vegetable juices. When we restrict ourselves from the usual habits, suddenly a world of options opens up to us. Here's a delicious green juice from one of my favorite juice joints. Or make your own!
Check back next Monday, May 6, to check out the 28 daily tips to get the body you want.
