Coming to America turns 25 this year, and fans of the 1988 comedy are naturally still wondering if Eddie Murphy will ever reprise his role as Akeem, an African prince who journeys to Queens in search of a bride.

Alas it seems a sequel is unlikely, but the reason may surprise you.

"When Coming to America came out it was a bunch of lawsuits,"Murphy revealed on The Arsenio Hall Show Tuesday night while discussing the milestone anniversary with Hall, who played Akeem's sidekick Semmi. "There was some dude who was claiming he was the prince. I'd be out in the club and this African dude would roll up and say, 'I am the real prince! You stole my life from me! And I want my money! I'll kill you!' "

The bright side? Murphy and Hall have hardly aged over the past quarter-century ... as they point out themselves.

"We still kind of look the same too," Murphy observes.

"A little bit," Hall modestly agrees.

"Most people, you cut to 25 years later, they'd be like, ooh lord," says Murphy. "Sometimes they have to tell you who they are."
