It’s a rite of passage for many child stars, and it looks like Abigail Breslin was ready to take her turn: the August: Osage County star, 17, has posed topless for a sexy photoshoot.
The young actress, who made her big-screen debut at age 6 in Signs, posed for her Final Girl director Tyler Shields in two topless shots. In one Lolita-inspired image, she’s wrapped in a sheet, eyes smudged with dark kohl liner, with a lollipop dangling from her mouth. In the other (below), she’s submerged in a tub, covered in bubbles, blonde hair soaked but eyeliner untouched.
“I wanted to do something iconic with her, something simple but timeless,” Shields told E!. “She’s the perfect subject for something like this. Incredibly talented, beautiful actress but no one has ever seen her like this. There’s fun in that — showing someone to the world for the first time.”

Shields, whose book The Dirty Side of Glamour captures many more bold, daring and racy celebrity portraits, told PEOPLE Abigail was “amazing,” and added that the two built a level of trust on the Final Girl set, which he called “an insane and amazing experience. I’m the only person Abigail has ever yelled at — her performance was incredible!”
Breslin herself told E!, “I don’t make these conscious decisions to do it to, like, prove to the world that I’m grown up. I think people see my work and see what I do and see that I’m grown up … I do want to try different things, but it’s all for fun.”
