At some point in Courtney Love's wild girl wanderings Wednesday night, the rocker and her phone went their separate ways, with the device landing on the floor of a New York City taxicab.
Moments later came a reply from Love – and a call from her manager, with a plan to reunite the smartphone and its celebrity owner.
Luckily for Love, the next passenger in the vehicle was New York Times op-ed columnist Frank Bruni.
Initially assuming the phone was his, Bruni picked it up only to discover that his own was safely tucked away. According to NYmag.com, the Times journalist, with help from his assistant, discovered that the locked mobile belonged to Love, based on incoming texts and Instagram notifications.
Hoping to reunite the iPhone with its owner, and maybe even get "a signed copy of a Hole album," Bruni reached out to Love the best way he knew: Twitter.

This Thanksgiving, Love will likely be thankful her phone ended up in Bruni's hands instead of the curious claws of just about anyone else.
