For Chelsea Clinton, it was a typically busy day even before her headline-making announcement: At an April 17 girl-empowerment event in New York City, the former First Daughter, 34, shared the happy news that she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby by year's end.
After casually blowing up Twitter – Jenna Bush Hager quickly sent well wishes, while others crowed about an American royal baby – Clinton dashed to the premiere of the documentary Of Many, on which she served as executive producer.
She then cohosted an afterparty downtown, and finally sat down to a quiet dinner at ABC Kitchen in N.Y.C.'s Flatiron district with Mezvinsky, 36, and her parents, Hillary and Bill Clinton.
"Chelsea's a machine. She's super-efficient," says Jen Lee Koss, a former roommate at Oxford. Koss got the baby news from her friend in person and says, "It was extremely emotional – lots of hugging."
