She might be from another galaxy, but Team Blake's Sisaunda Lewis proved she's got the "sick sick sick" talent to earn her an extended stay.

The Voice 's second round of battles continued Tuesday with a masterful performance by Lewis, a former vocal director for CĂ©line Dion (yes, really), and Biff Gore, a father of six coach Blake Shelton stole from Team Usher.

The duo's show-stopping rendition of James Brown's "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World," brought all four coaches to their feet – and they became effusive with their praise.

"Sisaundra, I am 80 percent sure you are not from planet Earth," coach Adam Levine declared in awe, while Shakira proclaimed her register as "sick, sick sick."

"The commitment Sisaundra has, you can tell every ounce of it is real," Levine also said. "Biff, you have the same thing Sisaundra has, the ability to go out and say 'I'm going to feel this.' All we ever try to teach anybody on this show is what you guys did."

Chris Martin a Guest Mentor

Shelton echoed the praise his fellow coaches showered on both his team members, but ultimately chose Lewis, explaining, "I can't miss out on the opportunity to work with a one in a trillion vocalist like Sisaundra." (Even guest mentor Chris Martin agreed. During rehearsals, the newly single Coldplay frontman called Lewis "a little too good. There's only a few people in the world who can sing like that.")

Yet Lewis wasn't the only singer to impress the coaches Tuesday. Team Usher's Stevie Jo, a Texas R&B singer with heavy metal roots, and Morgan Wallen, a landscaper with no formal vocal training, transcended One Direction in their performance of "Story of My Life."

"That was a song originally sung by boys. It was sung by a couple of men on that stage," Levine announced. "That was awesome."

The coaches were particularly impressed with Wallen's previously undiscovered falsetto, a skill so new it surprised the contestant himself. Yet coach Usher, who appeared to be channeling Davy Crockett in a coonskin cap, ultimately chose Stevie Jo, citing his "soulful essence."

But that was not the end of The Voice journey for Wallen, who was saved by Levine in dramatic fist-bump fashion in the final moments of the show.

"Morgan has rare soulfulness I don't even think he realizes he has," Levine explained of his decision. "Seeing that quality in a guy with so little experience is really special."

More Soulful Moments

Also soulful was Team Shakira's Ddendyl and Deja Hall's haunting performance of "Say Something."

Although the duo impressed the coaches, Shakira ultimately chose San Antonio high school junior Hall, explaining that she's the "one person who made the most progress and most tangible changes, so I'm curious to find out what happens."

It was not an easy win for Hall, who struggled to connect with the song of heartbreak during rehearsals, having never experienced it herself. Yet mentor Martin – who certainly knows a thing or two about it right now – asked her "What about Harry Styles?," then jokingly declared his love for the boy bander, "I mean me too, by the way."

The Voice's second round of battles concludes Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
