Dancing with the Stars: Did Injured Bill Nye Hang On?

It was a night of mostly high scores on Monday's old Hollywood-themed Dancing with the Stars .

But three couples were in jeopardy: injured Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein, Christina Milian and Mark Ballas, and Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd.

Find out after the jump who was forced to hang up their dancing shoes.

Nye and Stecklein are going home, following a fun, but low-scoring 16-point futuristic jazz number to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky."

"What breaks my heart is Tyne [has to go home]," Nye said after learning his fate. "She's fantastic."

Stecklein said what she'll miss most is his "sense of humor for sure. Maybe the science facts a little bit, but ..."

Although the elimination was a bummer for the dismissed pair, other couples had nights worth celebrating.

Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff danced a quickstep that judge Bruno Tonioli said was "one for the record books" and Carrie Ann Inaba praised for "sharp and bright" footwork. They scored 26 points out of 30.

Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a 25-point foxtrot that Inaba said had a "boo boo in the middle," but still managed to get overall praise from the judges.

Daugherty and Murgatroyd danced a 27-point quickstep that had Inaba calling the Pretty Little Liars actor a "fantastic dancer."

Previous low scorer Bill Engvall stepped it up this week, getting 24 points for a paso doble with Emma Slater that Inaba said he "nailed," and "must have rehearsed the poop out of."

Milian and Ballas danced a 26-point Charleston that Inaba called "incredible."

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber also showed lots of improvement, dancing a 25-point quickstep that led Inaba to say the reality starlet deserved "a star on the walk of fame."

Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus, however, tied with Nye for the lowest score of the night.

Alexa Vega on Fiancé: How I Knew He Was the One

Alexa Vega says she's finally found a man who doesn't make her compromise her standards – her fiancé, Big Time Rush singer Carlos Pena.

"I've been through a marriage and I'm still very fond of my ex-husband, but if I've learned anything through marriage it's that relationships are about compromise," Vega, 25, tells PEOPLE, whose two-year marriage to producer Sean Covel ended in 2012.

"But there are compromises like where you want to eat, what color you want to paint the wall ... but not who you are as a person," she adds. "Never compromise yourself."

The Machete Kills star revealed her engagement on Instagram by posting a shirtless photo of Pena, 24, with the caption "Hello fiancé."

"He's pretty incredible that one," she says. "I've never met anybody who is as driven and as motivated and inspires me as much as Carlos does."

Still, the actress jokes that on paper, Pena was completely wrong for her.

"When I met Carlos, I had never dated a Latin guy ... I don't know if it's because all of my family is like a Latin crazy family, but I've only dated tall, lanky white guys – everybody has been over 6-foot-3 and white," she says.

"Meanwhile, Carlos is 5-foot-7, very Latin and he's an actor and I always said no actors – so, he was everything I wasn't looking for, but everything I needed," she says. "He is truly incredible!"

Vega says she hasn't even begun to plan her wedding.

"We haven't done anything," but she reveals that she and her new beau are "in the middle of moving into a new home" and "just trying to enjoy the engagement in between work."

It's a Boy for Survivor's Rob Cesternino

It’s a boy!

Two-time Survivor contestant Rob Cesternino and his wife, Nicole, welcomed son Dominic James Cesternino on Sunday, Sept. 29, the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Dominic entered the world at 5:00 p.m., weighing 8 lbs. and measuring at 20 inches. Although doctors induced Nicole’s labor at 6:30 p.m. the night before, it took nearly 23 hours for Dominic to be born.

“Nicole and I couldn’t be more happy with our perfect baby boy,” Cesternino, 34, tells PEOPLE. “Finally seeing him for the first time was such an amazing moment and we’ll both treasure it forever.”

“Nicole and Dominic are both happy and healthy and doing great,” he adds.

This is the first child for Cesternino, who placed third on Survivor: Amazon and competed on Survivor: All Stars. He married Nicole, a fitness blogger and yoga instructor, in 2010.

Diana Nyad Ready for a 48-Hour Swim Following Her 53-Hour History-Maker

After completing a grueling 110-mile swim from Cuba to Florida, Diana Nyad spent a week recovering on Dairy Queen milkshakes.

"I stayed away from food for a week," she says, explaining the inside of her mouth was severely damaged from the salt water. "I was more dazed and physically exhausted than I thought I was going to be."

But that's not stopping her from gearing up for another big swim.

"My mind and body will be absolutely ready for this next swim," Nyad, 64, says. "I'm not out all night partying and staying up all night."

And her next swim will be slightly less hazardous to her health. From Oct. 8 to 10 Nyad is hitting the water to raise money for Superstorm Sandy survivors through Nyad Swim for Relief via AmeriCares.

"Because it's a pool we won't have the wind action, and of course there won't be jellyfish and sharks," says Nyad of the 48-hour undertaking, where she'll be accompanied by locals and celebrities swimming laps alongside her in a specially designed pool being built in New York City's Herald Square. "But still, there are very few people on earth who have swam for 24 hours, much less 48. I don't want to be a fool and not be able to make it through his swim and give up half way. I want to make sure that they know we care."

It ended with a proposal, but the night Kaley Cuoco got engaged to Ryan Sweeting, things got off to a rocky start.

"[He] actually started a little fight with me and threw me off," the Big Bang Theory star told Entertainment Tonight's Rocsi Diaz on Monday.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, things aren't great,' " Cuoco, 27, admitted. "He surprised me at the end of the night … [when] he popped the ring out. It was amazing."

Cuoco, who previously dated her Big Bang co-star Johnny Galecki and was spotted holding hands with Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill in July, hasn't been with tennis player Sweeting, 26, for very long, but says she feels like she's known him her whole life.

"From day one I just knew immediately and it's been magic. We have all the same family friends. We grew up with the same people, we just never met," she revealed. "I know that it seems a little crazy on paper, but it's what works for us."

For some new parents, the first date night out after baby might consist of dinner and a movie while constantly checking their cell phones for any word from the babysitter. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (surprise!) are not your average new parents.



The couple arrived at Paris Fashion Week in typically glamorous style — and with the seeming intent to prove that Kardashian has wasted no time in working on her fitness. The mogul appeared by her man’s side in coordinating casual outfits; she in a Max Mara coat draped over her skintight leggings and comfortable tee, he in jeans, a chain and Chukka-style shoes.

Then while she slipped into a second-skin, high slit camel dress and strappy sandals (not pictured), clearly designed to show off that postbaby bod, West tried a very different look in a tie-dye shirt, long raincoat and fringed moccasins. Veterans Day Telethon to Help Those with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Celebrities, musicians and comedians and, most importantly, American armed forces veterans will come together this upcoming Veterans Day Weekend, for Homeward Bound, a live, four-hour national telethon to support veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Alan Alda and Joe Mantegna will host the live event, to air on the Military Channel, on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 7-11 p.m. ET in Hollywood's historic American Legion Hall #43. Other stars, along with veterans and other dignitaries, will staff the phone banks to accept donations.

PEOPLE is teaming up with Homeward Bound because of the magazine's commitment to providing assistance to men and women who served in the military.

A portion of the night's proceeds will go to one of PEOPLE's charities, Operation Finally Home, which has built more than 30 custom-designed mortgage-free homes for wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fall in an effort to get their lives back on track to become productive members of their communities.

Homeward Bound is being presented by the Haven from the Storm Foundation, whose non-partisan mission is to improve the lives of returning military service men and women, including those affected by traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and psychological health conditions.

According to Haven From the Storm founder Leonard Wilf, "It's important to recognize the valiant contributions made by brave American soldiers, veterans who protect our country, and return home with PTSD and TBI. This cause is in my heart and I suspect that's true for many Americans who care."

On Monday, Girls star and creator Lena Dunham shared an email she wrote to her boyfriend of one year, Jack Antonoff, as part of artist Miranda July's "We Think Alone" project.

The email is addressed to "Dearest Baby" and was written in October 2012, while the writer/director/producer/actress, 27, was on a trip to India.

In it, Dunham tells her boyfriend, who plays guitar in the band Fun, about walking through "a beautiful Indian garden" and spying a young couple sitting on a bench talking animatedly.

"We spent 40 minutes walking around the garden and when we circled back they were still there, chatting like fiends," she writes.

Gone were the rosy lipstick and glossy waves from her last event; in their place, she added smoky gray-and-purple liner to her lower lids, then roughed up her curls and cut some piecey fringe that fell just to her brows.

We can’t blame the teen for wanting to look older than learner’s-permit age — after all, bangs are practically a rite of passage for high schoolers. And unlike our experimental fringe (which you’ll never see because we burned the photos) Hailee’s were done by a very expensive trained professional, so they’re totally flattering to her features. It's another crafty costume for Bill Nye.

Provided the injured Science Guy gets to perform on Monday night's Dancing with the Stars , he'll be clad in a robot suit with lights and a bow tie.

Nye, 57, was said to be "in good spirits" after a partially tearing a ligament last week when he tripped on the cuff of his pants mid-dance with partner Tyne Stecklein, claiming the first big injury of the season.

"We plan to dance!" Nye wrote on Instagram. "Stand by."

Just two months after splitting with George Clooney, Supermarket Superstar host Stacy Keibler has found love again.

PEOPLE can confirm that Keibler, 33, is dating tech entrepreneur Jared Pobre.

"They have been friends for years and recently sparks flew," a friend of the couple tells PEOPLE.

Keibler, who split with Clooney in July after dating for two years, posted a photo on Instagram on Monday that showed her and her new beau enjoying a glass of wine together in Paris.

"Love being in the city of love!" she captions the pic.

Pobre, 38, is the CEO of Future Ads and lives in Orange County, Calif.

According to a profile in OC Metro , he founded Future Ads in 2001 with a $500 investment, and by 2009 it was one of the fastest growing interactive companies in the country, raking in $50 million.

Miranda Lambert has a (doggy) bone to pick with her husband Blake Shelton.

The country singer caught her new puppy, Bellamy, chewing on a pair of her sneakers – and she has a suspicion that the shoes didn't find their way into his mouth all on their own.

"Bellamy … did @blakeshelton [Blake Shelton] give you my shoe? I know he hates these," she Tweeted, sharing a photo of the adorable pup munching on a shoelace.

Lambert, 29, welcomed the tiny troublemaker into their furry brood last weekend while at a tour stop in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Amanda Bynes Was 'Scared' at Psych Hospital, Lawyer Says

Amanda Bynes has moved from a psychiatric hospital to a rehab center in Malibu and is "making great strides toward recovery," a family lawyer says.

The troubled actress, 27, departed UCLA Medical Center about three weeks ago for The Canyon, where she is on an extended psychiatric hold for being gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.

"Amanda was stuck with people in much worse condition than her," her parents' attorney, Tamar Arminak, tells TMZ. "She was scared, afraid and did not leave her immediate room area."

At The Caynon, Arminak adds, "She is getting specialized psych care, one on one treatment, not drug rehab."

The Canyon, a rehab center famous for treating celebrities at its posh 120-acre site near the Malibu coastline, allows Bynes to walk around the grounds, see the ocean and ride horses, says the lawyer.

Diana Movie Poster Sparks Outrage at Site of Her Car Crash

A movie poster for the British biopic Diana , starring Naomi Watts as the ill-fated princess, has been placed on the exact spot directly above the Paris traffic tunnel where she was killed in a car accident 16 years ago.

In reaction, close friends of Diana and other admirers have sharp words to criticize the move as exploitative.

Rosa Monckton, for many years one of Diana's closest confidantes, said: "I really don't have any words to describe how I feel about this cynical and shameless attempt to publicize a film that should never have been made."

She continues: "To have made a film so speculative and as this is disgusting enough, but to then advertise it on the spot at which she died is despicable. … It is a terrible intrusion into her memory, not to mention the lives of her sons, whose feelings are often forgotten in these stories. I would expect them to take it down right now."

The 6'x4' poster over the Alma underpass stands only a few feet away from the gold-leafed Flame of Liberty, which became Diana's unofficial memorial following her death.

There was no immediate comment from the makers or distributors of the film. A spokesman for Paris City Hall said that the posters were on display "all over" Paris, and that the one above the Alma tunnel was "one of many."

He added that all the posters were displayed legally.

Diana remains hugely popular in Paris, where she is still referred to as "Lady D," and many of those paying their respects on this anniversary added their own disapproval of the poster.

"It couldn't be more disrespectful," said Sarah Hume, a 19-year-old American student. "This is where Diana died, and yet the film producers are trying to promote their film here. They should be ashamed."

"Her memory should not be besmirched in this manner,' said Celine Durant, 38, a local shop worker who remembers "Lady D.'s terrible end – the place where it happened should not be marked with a film advertisement."

The movie, loosely based on Diana's romance with Dr. Hasnat Khan (which ended in 1997, just before she died alongside another boyfriend, Dodi Al-Fayed), has already been widely panned in Britain and is now opening in Paris to equally appalling reviews.

Critic Jérôme Garcin, of the Nouvel Observateur, said of the film that it was impossible to imagine anything "more stupid, more ugly."

Our quickstep for this week is very difficult. Our routine is fast and complicated. I want to use this routine as a statement to tell people we're here to compete.

This dance is like P90X for us. Literally, at the end of every rehearsal, we'll go outside and just sit in this one area for 45 minutes not moving. The body is done. Even my eyelashes hurt. But I think the dance is going to be so cool.

It's Hollywood golden era week, so a lot of people will either be doing the quickstep or the Charleston or cha cha. Our story is hysterical. It's changed about five times. It's kind of a take on the casting couch. He's the director and he comes in to lead the audition and I am the starlet who comes in for the audition. And the rest is history. We're just going to say I got the part.

The jive last week was awesome. Corbin did such a great job. You know that it's going to work out eventually, but in the beginning, it doesn't look as good. But then as it gets to Saturday and Sunday, you see the final product starting to appear and you think, it's going to be awesome! I got to wear a high school girl outfit. It wasn't necessarily my favorite fantasy, but it definitely is up there.

We came in second overall for the two weeks combined, which is good because there's still room to grow. When you're in first, there's nowhere to go but down.

Corbin and I are really funny together. It makes any rehearsal easier. When it's only work, work, work, you get tired and bored.

Looks like Jessica Alba wasn’t ready to give up her ombré highlights. Less than a week after revealing a new haircut and slightly darker do, the actress has brought back her honey-blonde ends.

Alba showcased her lighter hue at the NCLA Alma Awards in Pasadena, Calif., Friday, sporting a center-parted wavy style and sun-kissed skin that added to the beachy vibe of her dip-dyed strands. And of course, her outfit also commanded our attention: a white bow-embellished long-sleeve blouse and a shimmery metallic skirt (both Juan Carlos Obando).

The 32-year-old star opens up in Health magazine’s October issue about having the confidence to experiment with new looks and show off some skin.

“I was more willing to wear short skirts after I had my kids. I never wore them before. Ever. At the end of the day, it’s so much time spent on something that really doesn’t matter that much.”

Well, it turns out British fans did not take the news so well after London's The Sunday Times excerpted the new book.

After waiting 14 years for this new book in the bestselling series, BBC News reported that legions of fans were stunned to learn that the author had killed off the dashing hero leaving Jones a single mother of two.

The revelation was the worst timing ever for Mairi Thomson, who Tweeted, "Saw the news about the Bridget Jones sequel, it comes out on my birthday and Mark Darcy is DEAD!!!! Awful news #birthdayruined"

In the published excerpts, readers learned that Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth in the movie version) died five years earlier, leaving 51-year-old Bridget (immortalized by Renée Zellweger, who was nominated for an Oscar) with two kids, Mabel and Billy. Bridget is currently dating a boy toy named Roxster as she comes to grips with Darcy's death.

The plot centers on the debut film script from Bridget – still counting calories and enjoying cigarettes and alcohol – as well as Internet dating. Ex-flame Daniel Cleaver has survived Fielding's pen and remains a part of Bridget's life as "naughty godfather" to her children.

All of the buzz, however, is just likely to help sales of the book, which will be published Oct. 15.

Eva Longoria 'Misconstrued' over Getting Married Again

Although she said only last week, "I've been married twice, so that's been there, done that," Eva Longoria is by no means completely ruling out putting on a wedding dress for a third time.

"I didn't say I would never get married again," the 38-year-old, addressing the comments she made to Access Hollywood , told PEOPLE at Saturday's Eva Longoria Foundation Dinner in Hollywood.

"There's nobody in the works now," she clarified. "So, it's not really on my mind. It was very misconstrued."

In the same interview last week, Longoria touched upon prospective motherhood: "I don't think if I'm 50 and single – I'm not going to go and [have a baby] by myself," she was quoted as saying.

But according to actress Ana Ortiz, star of the Longoria-produced Lifetime show Devious Maids, Longoria is maternal by nature.

"She's our mother," insists Ortiz. As for no actual little Longorias, Ortiz adds: "Yes, it is a loss for the world. But whatever makes you happy as a woman, you have to follow your own destiny."

Not that the Devious Maids set will be childless. Since costar Dania Ramirez just announced she's pregnant with twins, Longoria and the other women will "get to be the aunties," says Ortiz. "We'll be squishing them and spoiling them."

In fact, says Ortiz with a laugh, "I'll be surprised if [Dania] holds the babies at all."

Miley Cyrus Just Wants to 'Have Fun and Not Think of Any Kind of Repercussion'

Apparently every day is a party in the U.S.A. for Miley Cyrus.

The controversial pop star, 20, didn't hold back in her one-hour documentary, Miley: The Movement, which premieres on MTV Oct. 2 (10 p.m. ET) and covers an array of topics from her notorious VMAs performance to her buzzed-about haircut and even features her "SMS (Bangerz)" duet partner, Britney Spears.

"Right now I'm at a point in my career where I can just be exactly who I want to be," she says in the special. "I can just have fun and not think about any kind of repercussion and just go for what you want to do. That causes a lot of reaction but I think there's something about watching people grow up."

The Haircut

The former Hannah Montana star also said her headline-making haircut totally changed her life.

"I told my hairstylist, shave my head, dye me blonde," she explained. "I need to let go of like a past in a way because I felt like we need to see change. I felt like I had this whole new attitude. I felt like I could finally be the bad b–h I really am. Even the way I dress has opened up."

The VMAs

And it wouldn't be a typical Cyrus story without addressing that infamous VMA performance.

"I don't pay attention to the negative because how many times have we seen this play out in pop music?" she said. "Madonna's done it, Britney has done it, anyone that's performed on the VMAs, you know? You're always going to make people talk. You might as well make them talk for like two weeks rather than two seconds. I've been laughing about all the news because everyone else is so serious."

Adds Cyrus: "Everyone's worked up and frazzled and I'm chilling. I'm like, 'I forgot about that performance it's so behind now. On to the next performance.' Yes, I am very comfortable with sexuality, I like pushing the boundaries, but I'm coming out in pigtails looking like a giant adult baby basically. That's obviously funny. If I really wanted to put on a sexy show I wouldn't have been dressed as a damn bear."

The Collaborators

The director behind Miley: The Movement, Paul Bozymowski, says he respects the "We Can't Stop" singer. "I found her to be very savvy and smart ... Her sense of humor separates her from a lot of artists. That ability to not take yourself so seriously all the time really sets [her apart]," he tells PEOPLE. "She's a very hard worker with meticulous attention to detail, which was very refreshing."

In the film – which Bozymowski says was made over the course of three or four months – Cyrus also gets some face time with a collaborator on her upcoming album and VMA veteran, Spears.

"With the VMAs coming up, what you did with Madonna is when you blew up and that's what I'm looking at," Cyrus told Spears in the special. "That's what you've kind of been for my generation. For me that's when I got into music. I want to give people that again, just videos that are out of control and people can't believe the performances."

Said Spears: "You're not going to be topless on stage?"

"I tried to go there but I don't think MTV's going to allow it," Cyrus answered.

You were probably too busy watching football (and/or live-Tweeting the Breaking Bad finale) to notice there was a big celebrity hair change this weekend: Carey Mulligan is no longer a blonde.

The actress debuted a rich brown hue at the N.Y.C. premiere of Inside Llewyn Davis Saturday, marking a transformation from her platinum shade, which she sported for her role as Daisy Buchanan in last summer’s blockbuster The Great Gatsby.

Mulligan styled her darker do in a low center-parted bun — a departure from the mini pompadour she usually hits the carpet in. She also changed things up in the wardrobe department, selecting a revealing Alexander McQueen design (no structured suits or demure dresses) with abs-baring cutouts and a gold blinged-out collar.

This is not the star’s first time as a brunette. She has a similar shade for her role in Inside Llewyn Davis (hitting theaters in December) — check it out in the trailer below. She also had brown hair back in 2010 and for her breakout performance in An Education (which nabbed her an Oscar nom) in 2009.

When Kate Upton was spotted holding hands with former Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy in New York City recently, the Sports Illustrated cover girl was showing off her new boyfriend.

Yep, it's official and a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE, "They are very serious."

But the pair, who met through a mutual friend about six months ago, started off as friends, the source says.

"Along the way," the source says, "it turned into something else."

Specifically, the romance bloomed when Chmerkovskiy, 33, took Upton to an intimate dinner at Scalinatella in the Big Apple, to celebrate her 21st birthday on June 10.

"That's when it really happened," says the source. "It all really started just after her 21st birthday. They just clicked. They have a lot of chemistry together."

"They get along great," adds the source. "They have a lot of fun together."

Sept. 30 was no exception, as she stepped out with Kanye to visit the Stephane Rolland showroom where she rocked a dress that featured a slit cut practically up to her hip — and that wasn’t the first sexy look she showed off on their trip!

Prior to her visit to the showroom the new parents sat front row at the Givenchy show on Sept. 29, making their first public appearance as a couple since their baby was born, where Kim rocked her most revealing look yet — and it really put her figure on full display! It isn’t surprising to see Kimye step out to support Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci — after all, he dressed Kim for the Met Gala and is BFF with Kanye. What was surprising, however, was the outfit Kim selected for the occasion. After strategically covering up and keeping a very low profile, Kim didn’t hold anything back and left very little to the imagination when she stepped out in her black get-up. The frock featured a sheer top, a severe slit and ruffled detailing making it quite busy — and it was also very tight. Even if Kim was in the best shape of her life this look would have been considered questionable — it’s simply not super unflattering on her figure. The sheer detailing just looked sloppy and it didn’t do anything for Kim’s ample assets. Although we really didn’t like this look on Kim, we are happy to see the new mom showing off her curves and looking so confident while doing so — she looked beautiful.

Kim Kardashian’s Paris Fashion Week Trip:

While we were shocked to see her in the Givenchy outfit, the reality star quickly redeemed herself and won most improved in our book when she stepped out in her second sexy Paris look. While her neutral frock was just as leggy as her Givenchy ensemble, it was much more forgiving. She looked sexy, slim, neat, and chic in the dress, which she paired with a longer coat and a pair of matching sandals that featured an ankle-strap when she paid a visit to designer Stephane Rolland’s office. The reality star appeared to be wearing the same camel coat she showed off over the weekend in both Paris and London. Although it extended to her ankles since her frock featured a slit that cut practically up to her hip it allowed the new mom to show off her post-baby body in a tasteful way. The sexy silhouette of the bottom of the dress was balanced out by the conservative neckline. I also really loved the way her embellished sandals matched the color of the frock to a tee — she looked amazing!
