The pop star revealed Wednesday that she has to take some time off to allow a hemorrhaged vocal cord to heal. Grande, 20, announced the news the same week her debut album, Yours Truly, reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
"First day off in forever ... Vocal rest and watching movies in with my best friend @alexaluria dunno what I'd do without her," the singer and actress Tweeted Wednesday.
Early Thursday morning she Tweeted more information about her condition – and recovery.
"For those of u asking about my voice I screamed too much at my party totally irresponsible but it's better now, thanks for the well wishes," she said.
Despite her condition, Grande found a way to keep at least one work commitment while also following doctors orders. On Wednesday she "chatted" with KIIS-FM in Los Angeles using text2voice.
"ALERT: @ArianaGrande joins me next via #text2voice on @1027KIISFM! She's on voice rest, computer will do the talking!! Not kidding," DJ JoJo Wright Tweeted.
