Randy Jackson's wife, Erika Jackson, has filed for divorce from the longtime American Idol judge, PEOPLE confirms.
The two have been married for 18 years and have two children together.
Erika cited irreconcilable differences in court documents she filed Friday. She also seeks full physical custody and joint legal custody of son Jordan, 17. (Their grown daughter, Zoe, is not mentioned in court docs.)
"Randy and Erika had a plan [of how they would file] but at the end of the day she decided to file [on Friday]," an insider tells PEOPLE. "Randy is bummed out. It's not the way he wanted it to happen or end."
At one time, the couple ran the Randy and Erika Family Foundation, which included a focus on dance and physical activity, according to the Los Angeles Sentinel .
This is a second marriage for Randy, 58, who also has a grown daughter with his first wife.
Randy served as an American Idol judge for 12 seasons before leaving the show last year.
A rep for Jackson did not immediately respond to comment.
