If Facebook is the ultimate digital water-cooler for talking about award shows, then these maps are invaluable tools for predicting the Golden Globes tonight. Use this information only for good.

According to the social-network site, each map "displays Facebook mentions of this year's Golden Globe nominees during the week before the ceremony," while "each state is color-coded based on which nominee was most likely to get buzz compared to the national average."

Popular opinion here seems is split between Breaking Bad and Downton Abbey, while California is once again the lone dissenter, pulling for The Good Wife. Good for them, sticking up for the underdog like that.

Where's Nate Silver to settle this once and for all for us?

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 71st Golden Globes ceremony will air live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on NBC Sunday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
