Allison Williams is about separating her business and personal life.

The Girls star, 26, says she wants to start a family at some point but when that time comes, she doesn't necessarily want to involve her children in her job – and vice versa.

"My goal is to create a career I can walk away from and become a mom," Williams, who has been dating CollegeHumor and Vimeo cofounder Ricky Van Veen since 2011, tells Glamour in its March issue. "I'd love to be a mom – and not have to bring my kids into my trailer ... Or a balance [of both]. But you've [got to] call it on the fly to a certain extent."

Adds the actress: "If you go into acting for love of the craft, and you dodge the fame aspect, it's more sustainable."

And while Williams still is part of the industry, she's enjoying working with some of the big-wigs of the business.

After spending time with Tina Fey on the set of Baby Mama, Williams calls the comedy vet "humble and efficient," adding, "That exact combination was everything to me. Tina knows everyone's name. It's funny, Lena Dunham is the same way. It's hard to misbehave when your boss is so gracious."

Speaking of Dunham, Williams says she really values her character Marnie's relationship with the Girls star and creator, who plays Hannah.

"I root for Hannah and Marnie more than I do for Hannah and [her boyfriend] Adam. Marnie needs a close female friend. Who doesn't? I’d be nowhere without my girlfriends."
