Whenever journalists complain about working conditions, the backlash can come swiftly. (For example, "Who cares that you're stuck without adequate food and sleep for a week – you're on the Rihanna plane!")
Still, we can't help feeling sorry for the reporters who have shown up in Sochi, Russia, for the 2014 Winter Olympics, only to find that the city was not exactly prepared for their arrival.
International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has maintained that "the Olympic stage is ready for the best winter athletes in the world" but reporters arriving at the Black Sea resort town have observed a shocking lack of amenities: no water, broken toilets and hotel rooms that seem to have been left behind from the Axl Rose era. And as any good journalist would, they're Tweeting about it.
