Fashion Week has always been a star-studded affair. And watching the celebs in the front row is almost as much fun as watching the new designer collections hit the catwalk. Correction: It’s just as much fun. So in honor of #NYFW, we’re looking back at some of the most memorable front row celeb-spotting moments.
Remember that time Scarlett Johansson had a mullet? Well, we didn’t until we came across the above photo of the actress at the BCBG Max Azria show in 2003. Let’s just say we’re happy the star returned to a more simple cut and her blonde roots. Johansson was always a regular at the designer’s show (check out this photo), and we hope she makes an appearance at Lincoln Center this year.

Also in 2003 (now known as the year of ScarJo’s mullet), Lindsay Lohan made her rounds at the tents, and she was in total Cady Heron mode. The star was still rocking her red hair (RIP) and sported a pink mini dress, black opaques and some pointy boots for the Nicole Miller show. Next, Sarah Jessica Parker proved she’s always been the reigning queen of Fashion Week, selecting a blush sequin dress and velvet forest green topper at the Narciso Rodriguez show.
Rounding out the group, Jared Leto went full-out punk for the Marc Jacobs show in 2006. Black eyeliner, dyed hair, trench coat — the works. It’s seriously amazing that he was able to get his mane back to its shiny healthy state after all those early dye jobs. (What’s your secret JL?)
Which #TBT look were you most surprised by? Who are you hoping to see at Fashion Week? Share your thoughts below!
