Robert Downey Jr.'s son, Indio Downey, was arrested for possession of cocaine on Sunday afternoon, PEOPLE confirms.

Sgt. Arballo confirms that, after a traffic stop, the 20-year-old was arrested by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, West Hollywood division, and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He has since been released on bond, according to Arballo.

Downey was a passenger in the car, according to TMZ, which first reported the story and said officers reportedly saw him smoking from a pipe.

Indio, whose mother is actress and singer Deborah Falconer, was taken to jail, where he posted $10,000 bail and was released shortly after midnight.

Downey Jr., who has struggled with drug addiction in the past, spent time in jail and rehab before successfully completing his court-ordered treatment program in 2002.

"Smoking dope and smoking coke, you are rendered defenseless. The only way out of that hopeless state is intervention," he told Rolling Stone in 2010.
