Cressida Bonas is moving from Prince Harry to the silver screen.

The 25-year-old dancer and former royal squeeze, who was recently on stage at a literary festival in Wales, just landed a movie role, playing a merchant's young wife alongside British acting great Dame Judi Dench.

The vehicle is the Weinstein Company production Tulip Fever.

Set in 17th-century Amsterdam, the story follows a married woman (actress Alicia Vikander) who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Also starring are Glee's Matthew Morrison and British model (and It Girl) Cara Delevingne.

In a statement, producer Harvey Weinstein noted that Tulip Fever "will be the 10th film we've collaborated on with my friend Dame Judi Dench, whom I consider one of the most talented actresses of our time. It's a thrill to have her, Matthew, Cara and Cressida joining the fantastic cast that's been assembled."

When Harry and Cressida, a graduate of London's Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, broke up in April, a friend of Bonas's told PEOPLE that she wanted to concentrate on her performing career.

"Acting, dancing and singing is something I have done my whole life," she told The Sunday Times earlier this month, about acting at the Hay-on-Wye festival in There's a Monster in the Lake. "Being part of a creative team is the best thing in the world and I feel very happy within a creative environment."
