From Deadmau5 to Katy Perry, now-household names got their start performing as the "house artist" in between performances at the MTV Video Music Awards.
And this year's honor went to DJ Cassidy, the go-to celebrity DJ who just finished touring with Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. The New York native has also helmed the decks at President Obama's Inaugural Ball as well as a slew of celebrity weddings, from Beyoncé and Jay-Z's nuptials to Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries's doomed affair. (Hey, you can't blame that on the DJ!)
